What does “subject to approval” or “lot under seller confirmation” mean?
We must approve the winning lot,
A lot is only officially awarded once you receive an invoice. If no invoice is issued, the lot has not been awarded.
What is the difference between a “static bid” and “auto bid”?
Static bid:
You place a single manual bid at the current bid step or enter your own amount. If another bidder outbids you, you must place a new bid manually.
Auto bid:
You enter the maximum amount you are willing to pay. The auction system will automatically increase your bid step by step when other bidders place higher bids, until your maximum limit is reached or the auction closes.
You can cancel an auto bid by placing a static bid that is one bid step higher than the current highest bid.
If another user places a static bid equal to your auto bid maximum, the auto bid has priority.
What does “margin goods” mean?
If a lot is marked as “margin goods”, VAT has already been paid on the item.
This means no VAT is charged on the hammer price. VAT will only be applied to the buyer’s premium.
Can I see the the lots before bidding?
Yes. Each auction includes a scheduled exhibition day where lots can be seen in person.
The viewing date is always listed in the auction details. Exhibition days are fixed days.
Is there any warranty on auction lots?
We make every effort to describe all lots as accurately as possible. However, we strongly recommend inspecting items during the exhibition day.
What is the 3-minute rule?
If a bid is placed within the final 3 minutes of a lot’s closing time, the auction time will automatically be extended by 3 minutes.
This ensures all bidders have a fair opportunity to place a final bid.
How do I pay?
After winning a lot, you will receive a pro forma invoice. Payment is made via bank transfer.
Can I collect my lots at a later date?
No. Collection is only possible on the official pickup day listed in the lot description, unless stated otherwise in the auction details. Please contact us for more information: Auctions@cuesale.com
Can I get the dimensions and weight of my won lot?
When available, approximate dimensions are listed in the lot description.
All measurements are indicative. For exact measurements, we recommend attending the exhibition day and measuring the item yourself.
How does collection work?
Once your payment has been received within the payment deadline, you will receive a release note or final invoice.
You must present this document with the collection window to collect your items. The collection date, time and location are stated on your release note or invoice.
